Educational facilities

There are seven schools in the vicinity of Redbank Plains including public primary and state schools as well as private colleges.

Greater Ipswich is home to 90 schools, the University of Queensland Ipswich campus and two Institutes of TAFE.

Shopping

Redbank Plaza contains 40,000sqm of retail space including major tenants Coles, Kmart, Target and Reading Cinemas.

One of largest shopping centres in the Sourthen Hemisphere

Just minutes down the road is Orion shopping centre, opening in March 2007, this centre will be one of the largest urban shopping centres in the Southern Hemisphere.

With an amazing 35,000 sqm the world class shopping centre will include more than 100 shops and services, a modern, enjoyable shopping experience, extensive landscaping and water features even cycle paths and bike ways.

Recreation

The largest Redbank Plains Reserve is regarded as a recreational centrepiece for the suburb. It includes provision for soccer, baseball and skating.

The area abounds in open space, with eight major parks and reserves nearby, and major golf courses such as Redbank Plains and the Brookwater Golf Club at Springfield.
